“The Golden Years & Reverse Mortgages”

After the age of 62, oftentimes we are known as:  mature adults, frequently senior citizens, elderly people, or they say that "we are in our golden years."   Generally speaking, however, the older we become the less that gold tends to sparkle, if you get my drift.

We have planned throughout life for our retirement by anticipating traveling, playing golf, enjoying the grandkids and making improvements to our house to enjoy forever.  Many times, however, reality sets in and our ability to earn money dwindles, our health is beginning to decline and, therefore, our finances are requiring more attention.  This in turn starts to drain our savings.  So, we ask ourselves, what can we possibly do to improve our present situation?  In the not-to-distant past, we tended to hide our diminishing funds and suffered in silence.  Is this the way you would like to live out your "golden years"?  We must at this day and age become more proactive to have the retirement dream come true.

Millions of seniors across America are "house rich" and "cash poor".  There must be a solution to this particular problem -- after all, you have worked all of your life for your home.  Now it is time for your home to work for you.  It is called a REVERSE MORTGAGE!

The most popular reverse mortgage by far is the HECM (home equity conversion mortgage) which is insured and regulated by a federal agency known as HUD/FHA. The other less popular reverse mortgages fill in the small niche areas that HECM does not work in.
